The Tokaj viticultural area is a geographically closed area of viticulture and winemaking in the Bodrog river basin, bounded in the north in Slovakia by the Zemplín Hills, the Rozhladňa hill (469 m) and in the south in Hungary by the confluence of the Tisa and Bodrog rivers. It is a historical and territorial part of the large Tokaj region, the greater part of which extends over the territory of Hungary (approx. 5,000 ha). In Slovakia, 907 ha are delimited by law (highlighted in burgundy on the map). It is the smallest vineyard area in Slovakia
